Monday Morning on Columbus Day! and a few other celebrations!

When I got into my E-mail this morning I found this beautiful button/icon from my friend Denise. Thank you so much! She was giving me encouragement for my Angioplasty on both of my legs later on this week.
I appreciate her prayers for me and would I ever be Thankful for yours, too! I have tried to put this out of my mind since I first knew about it but now the time has come. I am just a little apprehensive about this procedure. I have to lie still for several hours afterward and then all should me OK!!I can come home that evening if they don't have to put stints in my back by the arteries near my kidneys. Hopefully they won't!

Today is Columbus Day in the USA. I don't know if they teach about this in school now days. We had to learn about the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria and that Columbus sailed in 1492! Of course being Swedish we think Leif Erikson could have found the new world first! Today our banks are closed and no mail. Nancy loves the mail!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian Friends celebrating their Thanksgiving! Have some turkey and dressing for me!!

Today is my friend Carol's Birthday over at Pea's Corner. Please stop by and wish her a Happy Birthday! Wishing you a Wonderful Day!!!

Super Simple Sunday meme and a Happy Birthday to Mary

Today is my friend Mary's Birthday! Please go on over to Mary's Writing's Nook and wish her a very Happy Birthday!

Shorty Bear said this on her post:

My sweet friend Peggy has started a new Sunday meme. It is called super simple Sunday. If you want to join, just post a scene or a song or a scripture that's on your heart [or any combination just few of your words] I thought I would do this too!

John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([a]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([a]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

So simple but so true!

I feel like Denise is the one with a Servant's Heart. She has been a life line for me on days that are long and dark. So have other blogging friends too!
This is going to be very difficult to pass this along. I usually give out the awards to everyone on my side bar. I think everyone on my side bar loves me and says kind things to me so this is hard!!! But here are some of the dear bloggers who have brought joy into my life.

It's from the song "Eternal Love" by Chris Christensen

You are my Shepherd

I will not be afraid

You make me dwell in peace

You are my light

And the Lord of my journey

Your rod and Your staff

Comfort me

So I'll sing in the valley

Shout from the mountain

Drink from the river

Dance near the fountain

Of Your everlasting life

And Your eternal love

What Color is your Day??

You Are Having a Brown Day
Today you are your normal responsible, serious self.
You're getting done what needs to be done. And you're not too worried about how you're feeling.

While you're all business, you are still warm and approachable.
You are busy, but you're not too busy for a little fun down time.

What Color Day Are You Having?
I love doing these! It makes the day a little more fun! I am having a Brown Day! I saw this over at Donetta's blog this morning and thought I would have fun doing this!
Cozy Reader is doing the What Kind of Purse are you? I love purses, too! Have you ever been over to Jane's blog! She loves to read! So do I!!! I always enjoy visiting her.

Good News! Praise God! I just had a phone call from Nancy's Doctor who is caring for her with her gall bladder problem. The nurse said they had received her MRI report and it was Normal! No signs of gall stones at all! If she continues to have pain call her primary Dr. She hasn't had pain for a while so I thinking our prayers are answered! Thank you for your prayers for us! This means so much to me that you all care about us!!

Yea! Nancy did her MRI!!!

Today was the day Nancy had her MRI!! I have the best news, she did it with out any problems!! She is so proud of herself!! You know what, we are proud of her too!! Yea,Nancy!

I really didn't know if she could do it or not! We didn't tell her any thing negative about it and kept telling her she would be able to do it!!

Nancy's Dad called yesterday afternoon and he told her," All you do is lay there and listen to a lot of noise"! She thought she had to breathe into a tube, like some of her tests that are so difficult. Karen was able to be in the room with her to tell her to lay still. She said Nancy did pretty good!

Nancy doesn't have clausterfobia so that really helps in a big way!! I flipped out when I tried to have one and they scrapped my arms until they bled which we didn't tell Nancy! It gives me the creeps to even think about it!

I had to have an open MRI and then I thought the lid was way way to close to my face! We have to wait on the Dr. and see what he says to do for her gall stones.

Thanks for your prayers for Nancy! What a Blessing you all are to my family!!

Thank you Anni, for the lovely treat! I will proudly put it on my side bar! Anni dearly loves Halloween and makes these great treats for all her readers! Nancy loves Halloween almost as much as Anni!

Saturday

Happy Birthday to my DIL Becky today! Karen and Kelly have left to go down to the football game at Jake's college. He is studying to be a coach and they go to the games and watch him run up and down the sidelines!! Bill and Becky will be there also. After the game members of Bill's church will meet up with everybody and go out to eat and celebrate Becky's birthday.

This was to long of a day with sitting in the sun in the bleachers. Nancy can't be in the sun due to some of her medicines she takes. Nancy and I stayed home! But not to feel bad for us!

Now that Karen only eats turkey burger I got real hamburger for Nancy and me and we are having a real hamburgers with pickles, tomatoes, onions, and cheese, the works and real buns!!

Of course by Karen sticking on this diet she has lost 100 pounds. I eat what they eat because that is what Kelly fixes up for suppers and it has made me more healthy! But some times I wish for some of the foods I love!!!

This morning we are praising God! Kelly got a promotion at her work! Thanks to everyone who prayed for her. She is so thankful to get this position. This means more money and better hours for her.

This week Nancy goes for her MRI and I found out yesterday that Karen can be with Nancy while she has this. The Doctor said her health is so bad he doesn't want to do any unnecessary surgery so he wants a very clear picture of what is going on with the gall bladder.

I asked about a open MRI and they said no!

It would not be clear enough. Of course if she isn't able to do this they will have to settle for a open MRI picture. She said that her friend was not able to do this but I CAN!!

We are trying to get her to HOLD that thought!!

Beautiful Fall Day!

It is a beautiful fall day! 68 degrees! I love it! Kelly threw open all the windows and doors! I have a large picture in the bathroom or should I say I did have a large picture!!! The wind gave a great gust and down it came. It has been hanging there for years, so I don't know why this time a breeze swept it away on the floor! Shattered glass everywhere!! Kelly cleaned it all up but what a mess!! It is still a beautiful day!!!

Here is a prayer request from Denise at Samaritan Women. Denise's niece Sandy Jackson just had a new baby boy last week and she now is going to have open heart surgery. Please pray for Sandy and her husband and the new baby Hayden. Thanks!

I sure want to Welcome Back, Denise over at Shortybears Place! We all missed her so much while she was getting better from pneumonia. It was so good to read her comment last night and see she was back again!! If you haven't been over to say Hello, I know she would love to hear from you!

Nancy saw the GI specialist yesterday. He said she must have a MRI before he can go ahead with this. He said her health is so unstable that he didn't want to do any unnecessary surgery. He needs to make sure she really needs the gall stones out before he recommends surgery.

He asked me what I thought about her getting a MRI and I crossed my fingers and said we can try. I really don't know how she will do. She will go next week for her MRI. I sure would appreciate prayer for her. Thanks for your many prayers!!

Kansas City Won their First Game of the season!!!

I love Peanuts and the gang! Nancy loves to watch the Charlie Brown special The Great Pumpkin. We watch this every year.

This week we will find out what the specialist wants to do about her gall stones. She has not had as much pain as she did at first. This has been a blessing.

We had a much more peaceful week then last week. We were able to get some much needed rest. The week before we had a three hospital tests/consultations and two visits to the Doctor.

Thanks for your prayers!! When everything is peaceful in your heart you can really get through the Day or Night!!

Kansas City just beat Denver 33-19!!! We had not won a game since last Oct!! We had lost 12 games in a row! So this was Sweet!! I am so glad to see them play with some passion! We have many rookies who are learning and hopefully they are getting into the swing of things!!

Nancy and I have our test results!

Today I had a consultation with the Dr.who will be doing a peripheral Angioplasty on my legs. This procedure helps open blockages in the peripheral arteries. These vessels carry blood to your lower body and legs.
Between Nancy and me, we have been to the Dr. or for test at the hospital every day this week!!
I will be have this procedure done on my legs sometime in Oct. When I had my test this week the technician was unable to get a blood pressure on my ankles. The Dr.told me it was very low blood flow. But we are going to fix this when I have my Angioplasty they will put stents in my arteries to help the blood flow.
On Monday I had to take Nancy to the Dr. again, because of the pain in her upper right side. The Dr. had her go to the Hospital for a test for her gall bladder and they called me as soon as we were home and said that she had gall stones. That is why she had all the pain. We are in the process of getting her an appointment with the GI Doctor.
Let me tell you yesterday I felt like this was just to much!
But now I feel like we will get through this with the Lord guiding us all the way.
Please pray for both of us. Thanks!

She is a United States Citizen!!!

My grand daughter in law Sofia was sworn in as a United States Citizen this morning! I know I said I would have pictures but in all the hub bub of getting ready with three kids and the oldest being 3 they forgot the camera!
Some one else took pictures during the swearing in and Jeremy gave them his E-mail address. Hopefully they will send a picture to them!

There were 41 people there to take the oath and 26 countries represented!
Kelly is baking an Apple pie for them and Karen is stopping by and getting red, white, and blue balloons to give to our new citizen!!! We our so proud of her!

In other news I had my test for Harding of the Arteries yesterday. The tech could not get a blood pressure for my ankles. Very low blood flow. So I am set for a consultation with the specialist soon. To decide what they will do. I will keep you all updated on this. Thanks for your prayers for us!!

It is a beautiful day! It is not raining! Praise God!

While I had some time I have been working on my blog. I think it was Friday night when Nancy was sleeping and I had a some time I put blogger's names on a new deal called My Blog List. Ok, I went over board and I put almost every one on my blog list on this new deal and I didn't check it out until I was almost finished and, OH MY GOODNESS!! It took 5 or 6 minutes to load my blog page!!!

So I took every one off and I started all over again on Saturday morning and added three. Now I have added a few more to my side bar and it loads fine. I will keep adding more blog friends but a few at a time!!! I don't want anyone to have to wait that long to see my blog!!!

Tonight is the big picnic for the new Hispanic church that the AOG is starting in our town and my grandson is the going to be the pastor for the new Hispanic church.

Karen and Kelly planned to attend and support Jeremy and Sofia. Karen and Kelly go to another church but they are behind Jey and Sofia desire to win the hispanics in our community and surrounding community's to the Lord.

I am praying this takes off because in our area we have a large Hispanic population.

My granddaughter in law is from Mexico and on Wednesday is her BIG Day!! She will be sworn in as United Stated Citizen!!! I am so proud of her! She has studied so hard for her test and she past with flying colors!

I have told them they must take pictures of her being sworn in and I will post them on my blog. I am so excited about this.
Remember Nancy and me in your prayers we still have health issues. Thanks!

This Sunday I am so Thankful for electricity and gasoline, water and a dry home. My heart goes out to the people down in Texas and Louisiana coasts who lives have been disrupted by Ike. It looks so bad and I know how hard it much be to be with out water and the AC in the heat.
