Thankful Thursday!

Here it is time for another Thankful Thursday!! I am thankful every day for all the Blessing God give us. I am so thankful that all the kids have good jobs that provide them with a living!! I am thankful for Carrie and Aaron's supporters who help keep them on the Mission field.

So Thankful that all the kids have good health. The new grand baby Kevin is healthy and growing. This is a real blessing!!

I am so Thankful I have had the money to pay my light bill this summer and have the benefit of air conditioning !! Thankful for the money in the winter to be able to pay for the heating bill, too!!

So Thankful that Karen is able to pay for our kitty to be spayed in the morning. If you have ever had a Cat that wasn't you know what I mean!! MEOW! MEOW! They can keep your up half the night!!

I am so Thankful for a Savior who loves me and died on the cross to save me from my sins!! I have a wonderful loving Heavenly Father who Loves you and me and wants to provide us with a Heavenly Home!! I am Thankful that one of His name is El Shaddai The God who is more then enough!! Autumn!

Tuesday Afternoon....

It is very dark and gloomy here this afternoon! It has been raining off and on all day! I have the lights on so I can see. If Kelly were home she would be saying Woo Hoo!! She loves to bake on rainy days, but she had to be work all day!!

Again today I am going to tell you about some neat places to visit. The first place is Kelly's. She is posting each day about her Aunt and Uncle's who have all passed on . I sure miss all of them but I do have happy memories of our childhood and growing up. They were a lot older then I was, so they all served in World War Two!! My Mother had one of the little flag in living room window with three stars in it to represent her children serving in the War. Margaret was in the WAVES, Ray was in the Army, and Don was in the Navy!! Don wanted so bad to get to go fight over seas but he never got out of San Diego!! You can GO here to read about her Uncle Ray.

I have been out and read some blogs and you must see Melli new grand daughter!! Oh, my what a sweetheart!! Go here to tell Melli what a beautiful little girl she is!!! I think Melli is going to have a ball spoiling her!!

Cindy over at Notes in the Key of Life is doing the same as me today and she has a ton of places on her blog to go visit that sound really great!! Go here to see what Cindy recommends!

Sunday Thoughts.....

Kelly

Brandon and Mathias

Brandon and Kelly
age two

When I was looking for other photo's for photo hunt I saw this one of my daughter Kelly and my grandson Brandon. Yes they are the same age!! Grams and her daughter Carrie had babies together almost!! Kelly was born in December and Brandon the following Feb. this made them about 2 month apart!!
When I saw this photo I thought how fast times goes by and how much we need to cherish each day with our loved ones!! Kelly and Brandon are 28 years old now and have become lovely adults!! Brandon and his wife Ale' work with their parents in Mexico with the Youth in their church. They have one son who is 6 years old.
Kelly graduated from college and is kind enough to live at home and with Nancy and me and help take care of us! She works at the library and she and Karen have a photo studio together.
I just want all the young Mothers to enjoy these days with their little ones!! I read this over at Melanie 's blog back in June about raising babies or children " The Days are long but the Years are Short"!!!! I can't improve on that at all!! This is so true. No one told me when I was bringing up my family and wiping noses and bottoms that these always hungry, sometimes fussy at times little people would grow up to be wonderful adults who share their families and love back to you!! This has been the greatest reward of my life the love of my children toward me and all their kindness!! So don't grow weary, don't give up just pour out your love and your heart as you raise these precious little ones and it will be returned to you a in a hundred different ways.

Wordless Wednesday

Welcome Fall!!

Tuesday !

I am up early again for me!! When I was married I was up very early, and when Nancy worked at the Sheltered Workshop we were up at 6:30 am for about 20 years!! But after I fell in 2003 everything changed and Nancy was home too. Now we don't get up so early! You know what, I LOVE it!! We can stay up late reading, reading blogs, etc and not worry about a time we have to be in bed to be able to function the next day!!

Of course we have Dr. appointment days and then we do go to bed earlier!!
I have one on Friday morning and trust me I am not looking forward to this one!! The Dr. wanted me to get my sugars down and part of the time was during our vacation and I sorta thew caution to the wind..... oops! Not a good idea!! I have to do a fasting blood surgar test and it will tattle on me!!

Kelly took that nerd test that was over at Lazy Daisy Log place and she thought it was fun!! I tried to do it but clicked on the wrong button at the last and lost the whole thing!!

I knew it seemed windy yesterday and sure enough I wasn't wrong!! Glo lives in my area and Kelly visited her blog this morning and told me about what she saw and I went right over there and went, wow!! Go here and you can see what happened in her yard!!

Monday Thoughts.......

We were up early this morning, I told Carrie we would deposit a check for her at the bank this morning in a town not to far from here.

While we were gone on our trip she needed this done, I couldn't do this until Tuesday, and we were able to find the same Bank she has in Chattanooga TN. We drove into town at 4:30PM and I thought we had until 5:00. Karen stopped and asked a lady, "Do you know where there is a Bank of America"? She had a lovely southern drawl that we will not soon forget!!! She said," We don't have one here, You will have to go into TOOWWWWNNN to find one"!!! Just take the road to your right and follow it to town............... Karen thanked her and we followed the road all the way up the mountain!!!! Karen was starting to think she had told us wrong and was going to turn around when low and behold there was a curve in the road and we began a long decent down the mountain and into TOWN!!!
Kelly spotted the bank and we drove over and they had closed at 4:00 pm !! If I had grabbed a envelope from home this would have been easy but of course I didn't! The bank was out of them..... So we saw a another little drive thu thingy over at the side at the same bank that had envelopes and Kelly ran over there but before she could get there a little old lady like me drove up and did her entire banking for the last 3 months!!

Well, that is what it seemed like!! We waited and waited. Kelly came over to where we were parked to wait for the little lady to finish and another car drove up over there and Kelly walked over there and get in line again and it ticked off the man who was in the car behind her and he started cussing her out !!!
Karen told her" Kelly come here a minute and we had had run over to a Walgreen's not to far away to a buy envelopes!! She did and we were able to deposit Carrie 's money and be on our way to the Smoky Mountains!!
Karen said that the other drive thu thing had a deal that you put your check and deposit slip in with out envelopes and I said, " No! No!"I am not putting checks in that thing!!! I have never seen any thing like that before and being sometimes old timey I would not hear to it!!!!! So we used envelopes!!! We sure won't forget Chattanooga any time soon!!

A Devotional from Grams!

When I started this blog back in June, my idea was to post about my special needs daughter Nancy who is 45 years old and battles lupus and mental problems. I thought writing about this daily just might help someone else caring for their love one. Maybe to help de-stigmatise living with a person who daily has a hard time coping. But low and behold my blog took off in another direction!!

Kelly and I would really have a hard time taking care of Nancy if we didn't have a deep and abiding faith in God!! We have days that we have to lean so hard on our faith that you would not believe it! She is a hand ful for sure!!

Even if you are not battling deep metal problems like Nancy, here are some wonderful scripture for you, if you are facing fear, and a whole bunch of other things that can make life so miserable!

First verse......... if you are disturbed........ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power.of love. and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
I draw on this a lot.... when I feel fear I remember it isn't from God and I feel peace over flowing me.

second verse...... if you need courage today.......... Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and He shall thrust out the enemy from before thee: and say , Destroy them. Deuteronomy 33:27

Where else would you rather be then underneath the loving Ever Lasting Arms of our Savior! He will keep us!! This should give us abundant courage to face any thing!

third verse....... are You sick today and need a touch from God!......... For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord.
I am slipping in another verse just like I did on the verses above!......... He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Psalm 107:20

Fourth verse....... are you having Financial problems......... The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing . Psalm 34:10
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
It said or needs not our wants.... and he is so faithful on this, if He didn't take care of us we would be sunk!!

Fifth verse....... If things look hard today......... The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Isn't it great to know that He know us and where we are!!! Without Him how lost I would be!!
He is our everything and give us Hope and Faith to get through each day!!

She had a big map in front of her on the back of my chair in the van, Karen would call out Map Girl and she would hand it to me or Karen! It made her so proud to do this!! She was grinning and happy as could be!!!

I was Trash Lady and everyone gave me their trash and I had a sack on the floorboard by my feet for this !! Kelly was Snack Girl or Pack Mule is what she said!

She handed out the snacks and pop you know the drill!!

I know by now you all have heard that I fell in LOVE with ocean the minute I saw it!! This is how I feel about it..... It goes on and on and on forever just like God's Love!! It was just awesome!! I would love to live near the beach!! All my kids said, "Mom that is why everyone wants to live there"!!! My son Bill said ,"Mom be sure and see the sun set on the beach" ,but it rained that evening....... But the next morning we did see the Sunrise and took some great shots of this!!

This was the week we had to go up to Kansas U. Medical Center for Nancy's checkup on Tuesday. The Doctor said Nancy lungs sounded a lot better!! This was good news.... She is taking a nap and has been sleeping a lot since we got home because she is still very tired!! Me too!! :) Not as tired as the first of the week!!

We were up early this morning because I thought this was the day for her fasting blood sugar at our local Doctors office! We got there and found out she is to see the Dr in Oct!! opps!!! So we came home!! I got mixed up some how!! :)

I sure do appreciate every one going over to Traveling Grams and leaving comments and reading our blog about our trip!!
