Saturday

Happy Birthday to my DIL Becky today! Karen and Kelly have left to go down to the football game at Jake's college. He is studying to be a coach and they go to the games and watch him run up and down the sidelines!! Bill and Becky will be there also. After the game members of Bill's church will meet up with everybody and go out to eat and celebrate Becky's birthday.

This was to long of a day with sitting in the sun in the bleachers. Nancy can't be in the sun due to some of her medicines she takes. Nancy and I stayed home! But not to feel bad for us!

Now that Karen only eats turkey burger I got real hamburger for Nancy and me and we are having a real hamburgers with pickles, tomatoes, onions, and cheese, the works and real buns!!

Of course by Karen sticking on this diet she has lost 100 pounds. I eat what they eat because that is what Kelly fixes up for suppers and it has made me more healthy! But some times I wish for some of the foods I love!!!

This morning we are praising God! Kelly got a promotion at her work! Thanks to everyone who prayed for her. She is so thankful to get this position. This means more money and better hours for her.

This week Nancy goes for her MRI and I found out yesterday that Karen can be with Nancy while she has this. The Doctor said her health is so bad he doesn't want to do any unnecessary surgery so he wants a very clear picture of what is going on with the gall bladder.

I asked about a open MRI and they said no!

It would not be clear enough. Of course if she isn't able to do this they will have to settle for a open MRI picture. She said that her friend was not able to do this but I CAN!!

We are trying to get her to HOLD that thought!!

I know what you mean about eating real food. I used to buy the lite buns, they are smaller. Honey Bear asked me to buy the bigger ones. They are whole grain which is good for us. We used to use fat free mayonaise but have learned that light taste so much better. I used to buy fat free margarine but learned it had plastic in it so now we use real butter or butter spread with canola oil. We don't use much butter. Honey Bear eats it on biscuits once a week and I use it when I scramble eggs on Saturday. I use the "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter" spray on my toast, & english muffins. I also use it on grilled cheese and just spray the pan with non-stick spray.
With all of this, we tend to eat sweets too much in the evening.

I've had a couple of MRIs myself and it was a little uncomfortable for me. Especially since they tell you not to move, cough, etc. I hope Nancy will just keep a positive attitude. And I hope they've explained it to her so she knows what to expect.
Have a good weekend.

Big congratulations coming your way for Kelly and her new job!! How I love a REAL hamburger, especially if it's cooked on a grill. Yummy!! I'll keep praying for Nancy and hope her MRI goes well. I'm having a giveaway. Stop by if you would like to enter.

You know, dear Grams, that you and your family are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers.

Ya, I can so understand that about wanting a REAL beef burger. With me and my near veggie diet these days because of cholesterol and trying to keep it low for the heart, I crave a pizza every so often, and I had to have a couple of slices just the other day. I paid for it later since my body's not used to the fatty foods,......but, hey....you gotta live once in a while.

You take care...and have a great weekend. [psssssssst, the Broncos aren't playing the Chiefs again, are they? --kidding!]

Grams,

Congratulations to Kelly on her job promotion. I'm so glad that she got it. Kudos to her.

Nancy sounds like she is trying to psyche herself up for the MRI. I know I would have trouble with it, because I'm claustophobic. I don't like elevators, let alone an MRI. I've never had one and hope to never have to. It is just too close quarters for me.

Tell Nancy that I am rooting for her and keeping her in my prayers.
I'm glad you could both enjoy a hamburger and congrats to Kelly on the weight loss.

Blessings,
Mary

So sorry you didn't get to go to the game. I was out today and that sun does get very hot.

I hope Nancy keeps her positive attitude going. Some times the attitude makes a huge difference.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Go Chiefs!!!
