Thankful Thursday

I haven't done a Thankful Thursday for a few weeks so I think it is time to write down some thankful thoughts!
I am so very thankful that we didn't lose power during the recent ice storm! I really do understand how hard this is for all the people with out power in the mid-west. This is truly something that you don't want to go through.
I am thankful we are all staying healthy this winter! I had a few sniffles but that is all.
So thankful for our heat and a nice warm house!
I am thankful for the funds to be able to buy Christmas gifts for my family and friends!
Something even better is if I didn't have the funds my family would not mind at all! Except Nancy and we would see to her!!
I am so thankful for my Great grand kids!!
Karen and Kelly just ran into Jey's family at Wal- Mart and little two years old Valerie wanted Karen and Kelly to see the pretty lights over on Chicago Street. They are following Jey and Sofia and the kids over there to see them. But what brought tears to my eyes is that little Valerie doesn't know that Karen helped put those light together 20 years ago! The person who started this was Karen's youth pastor many years ago!!
I am so thankful for lovely great grand children and grand children who bring a smile to my heart and sometimes a tear to my eyes!! I just thought that was so sweet that she wanted to share the lights with them! These lights start with the whole Bible story and ending with Christ ascending into Heaven after He was raised from the dead!! It is always awe inspiring to drive through and view it.
I am so Thankful for God sending His precious Son to the earth to live and die for me! And for YOU!! God's great Gift for us!! The best gift of all.

Good Evening Grams,
Yes, oh Yes, we have so much to be Thankful for. I'm Thankful that yall didn't lose electricity either. I have a blogging friend that lives in Kansas, and they lost power and water as well. She had some pictures on her blog yesterday and today of what it looked like around her home. It is devastating. I'm Thankful that my dear hubby made it up to Meta, Mo and Mexico, Mo with good roads. He did say he saw ice on the trees and stuff, but the roads were in good condition. I'm also Thankful I found you Grams. You are such a sweet and wonderful person. I so enjoy coming and visiting with you. And last but not least, I am Thankful that Jesus died on the Cross to save us from our sins. He is truly and "AWESOME GOD". Thanks so much for sharing with us. They say we might see some snow this Saturday. I am thinking it will all go North of us. We might see a snowflake or 2 mixed in with the rain. Well, take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

I was stuck in an ice storm many years ago in Canada when I was there for my winter break. I was thankful we had power too, especially since the block across the street had lost theirs for days. Glad to hear you had an easier time too:)
God Bless

Such a wonderful list of things to be thankful for, dear Carolyn. We often tend to forget to be thankful for everything we do have, especially at this time of year. I'm so relieved to hear that you didn't lose your power during the ice storm, thank God for that!! Stay safe my friend. Much love xoxo

Living in California, I have a hard time imagining ice storms. I can see how they would be dangerous. Thankful with your for your cozy warm home. Blessing to you.

Wish we lived close enough to take a light tour - it sounds wonderful. And seeing your kids, and grandkids and greats following in such a neat heritage is amazing.

Hi Grams,
What a wonderful list of things to be thankful for. It is so easy this time of year to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle and forget why we are celebrating the season.
I won't try to make my list here but just suffice it to say that I share most of yours, except of course your storm and GREAT grandkids which I don't have yet!! lol
Thank you for sharing and reminding me!
Hugs,
Hope

What a great list...and I too am glad that you did not lose your power from the ice storm! It is tough to have no power...even though people all over the world live without it all the time! But...I AM thankful for power here. :)
