Seeing the Christmas Lights

This is it!! Five Days until Christmas!! I want to Thank everyone who stopped by yesterday and wished Kelly a Happy Birthday! This was so kind of everyone to take time out at this busy time of the year to wish her Birthday Greetings.
Kelly and I did have a good time in the kitchen!! She baked her cake and then made a couple batches of candy. She had copied and pasted the recipe I found over at Peas Corner a while back. She printed these out and she was ready to make candy.
The candies turned out looking good!! If they taste as good as what I licked out of the spoon she gave me,well yum!!

Karen came over and we had supper and then Ice cream and Birthday cake. Kelly opened her gifts and then we were off for an evening of fun!!
My grand daughter Sarah went along with us, First stop was the Independence Center. Kelly and Sarah ran in and Kelly was able to get a pair of boots that were marked down from 55.00 to 20.00!! They are adorable and she is tickled pink!! OK that is Grams way of saying she loves them!!
Off we went to Jey and Sofia who had a gift for Kelly!! They were getting ready for Sofia folks who live in Mexico to fly in today and were getting everything ready for them. Sofia was so excited about them being able to come up for Christmas!!

Then we were off for downtown Kansas City and over to Crown Center to look at the lights and the mayors Christmas tree!! This was all so pretty!
Then off to the Country Club Plaza. There light are suppose to be known all over the country! Miles and Miles of light on the buildings where it is very upscale shopping!! Needless to say Grams doesn't shop there!! I just love looking at the lights!!

Then we took off for the beautiful old homes that are decorated so beautifully and looked at so many of them.
Karen needed some items from Target and we stopped at Ward Parkway shopping center. I had a cart but Nancy got tired real fast but she did get the pets a gift!!
Ok we still were not finished!!

Karen knew of a business place that is decked out to the hilt (OH MY) and timed to music on a local FM station just for this display!! It was something to see!! We didn't get home until 11:30 and this is late for this old lady!! But it was a really fun time!! We always try to go out and see the lights on Kelly's Birthday!!

Hi Grams,
I'm so glad Kelly enjoyed her birthday. And all those lights...you guys really made the rounds, huh? I'd like to see the ones set to music. I love just driving around our neighborhoods and seeing the lights and decorations. We usually go to Dollywood before Christmas to see all the lights there but we haven't made it this year. Everybody was so busy and we have trouble getting our little family together at the same time.
I'm glad you all had fun doing that.
Are you not allowed into that candy until Christmas?? I couldn't resist!! lol
Have a good restful evening!
Hugs,
Hope

Good Evening Grams,
I'm so glad yall had a good time yesterday celebrating Kelly's Birthday. That candy sure did look good over at Pea's the other day. My mouth just waters when I go over and visit her. I have heard about the Crown Plaza lights on "The Weather Channel" before. They didn't show any pictures. They were just telling the weather for there and telling about them. Now Grams, why didn't you take your camera and take some pictures to share with us? I can just imagine what they looked like. I do hope your Daughter-In-Law's Parents made it today. I know she must be so excited. Well now, you staying out till 11:30p.m, hmmmm, but Tis the Season tho. LOL. Girlfriend, I can't afford to shop at them fancy schmancy stores either. I do good anymore to shop at Wal-Mart's, which I literally hate going there. I love shopping at the Dollar General Store we have here in our town. They have some really cute things in there. I am glad you like the Award. You are most deserving of it. Well, I have to start getting ready for the ballgame. I just finished eating leftover Taco's. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

What fun!! Glad that kelly had a great birthday!! She has a birthday at a lousy time of the year. Our youngest daughter, Becky has one the 28th!! It used to take her awhile when she was little to really understand that she had a birthday!! Smile. They grow up so fast. She will be 35!!
Hope you have a good night...Sandy

Grams,

I'm glad that Kelly had a wonderful birthday and that you celebrated together. The Christmas lights sound awesome. We have a great display at Niagara Falls every year, but the crowds are tremendous, so I've never gone.

I've enjoyed my visit, as always and just love the graphic with the birds.

Blessings and love,
Mary

What a wonderful day! And all the lights! It's the one thing we don't have out here in the mountains. We have lights and decorations up outside, but there's no one around to enjoy them but my hubby and I.,,,until Saturday night. Then the family starts coming home for Christmas.

Have a blessed Christmas!

So glad you all had a wonderful time! Those lights sound absolutely fabulous! We're going tomorrow night to see lights. I have heard one house on Christmas Eve even brings in real snow, so am going to ask the owner if it's true! My little Bug would just love that so much!
So glad you mentioned Nancy getting the pets a gift; I almost forgot mine.
Have A Blessed Friday!

Sounds like ONE terrific birthday celebration, I'm so so sorry I forgot to drop by. We had a very busy day so....I will send along a shamefully belated wish.

The light show drive bys are so awesome aren't they? I too love to do that. And go ooooooooooooo, and ahhhhhhhhh. LOL

Homemade candies are tops. My dad used to be the one that made our fudge and chocolate covered candies. Yummy.

[you should go out to you tube and see some of the light shows by music ------really cool]

Happy Friday to you and yours, Grams.
